Bursary Value:
- A maximum of $1,000.00 per academic year (Post-Secondary only)
Eligibility:
- Currently in care, or a former youth in care, under one of the following orders or agreements: Continuing Custody Order (CCO); Temporary Custody Order (TCO); Voluntary Care Agreement (VCA); Special Needs Agreement (SNA), or a Youth Agreement (YAG).
- A Canadian Citizen or a Landed Immigrant
- Under the age of 25
- Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a secondary, post-secondary, academic, technical or vocational program, a recognized public post-secondary institution, or a registered private post-secondary institution.
- Planning to study, or currently studying in a field that will lead to a career in the Social Service, Health, or Education sector.
KEN DRYDEN SCHOLARSHIP
Ken Dryden Scholarships are awarded to select young people currently, or formerly in the care of the Canadian child welfare system, who demonstrate great achievement and promise. Each scholarship covers up to $3,000.00, or 80% of the cost of tuition and fees, whichever is less, and is renewable annually. www.youthincare.ca

- Former permanent ward of the Ministry of Social Services of BC, its predecessor or successor, or have been in the continuing custody of the Ministry of Children and Family Development.

Eligibility:
- Former youth in care who were in continuing custody or permanent custody, or under the guardianship of a director of adoption pursuant to or under the Adoption Act.
- Full time student. Between 19 to 23 years old.
- Registered to take post-secondary level courses from a designated post-secondary institution. (List of designated schools is available at www.StudentAidBC.ca). This website is the easiest way to access information and application forms.

AGREEMENTS WITH YOUNG ADULTS (AYA)
Eligibility:
- Young adults who until their 19th birthday were in continuing care or on a Youth Agreement with MCFD.
- Older than 19, but not yet 24 years old and attending an educational, vocational, or rehabilitative program.
