Babysitting/respite needed for boy (7) near Olympic Village Skytrain (Posted on Tue 06/21/2011)
Babysitting/respite needed for boy (7) near Olympic Village Skytrain
Occasional babysitting and possible overnight relief that meets MCFD relief care requirements (crimchk etc.) is needed for boy (7) near Olympic Village Skytrain Station. I am a single restricted foster parent of an active 7 year old boy and I am looking for some childcare help in our home (or yours). He is a good natured well behaved boy who likes sports, building Lego, reading, drawing and computer games. We would prefer someone who enjoys taking part in outdoor activities and could supervise any play dates if possible. I am also looking for some weekend respite in our home (or in your kid friendly home with other kids).
Please email Ann at annharkness@shaw.ca if you are interested in helping out.
After School Care & Respite Needed – South Surrey (Posted on Fri 05/06/2011)
We are a same-sex family who are relocating to South Surrey (near Ocean Park) in June. We’re looking for a caregiver to provide after school care from September for our son Philip, a 10 year old boy with FASD. Someone who has a working knowledge of kids with FASD/behavioral issues would be ideal. He would be picked up at Ocean Cliff Elementary in South Surrey after school, walked home (2 blocks) and taken care of until about 6pm. You would be able to take him to any after school activities or programs, supervise him if he has any play dates etc. He has some issues with frustration (socializing with peers), dealing with transitions and being out of an established routine. Otherwise he is a good natured boy who likes drawing, building and his Nintendo DS. Any availability over the summer to get to know Philip and spend some time with him would be helpful.
We’re also looking for regular monthly weekend respite in a friendly home (willing to drive him). Older or younger kids in the home is ideal (or none!)
